University of Crete

The world-ranked University of Crete offers a selective six-year International Medical Programme in Heraklion. Medical Doorway is its official representative and the only organisation providing applicants with free support from assessment through to enrolment.

Founded in 1973, the University of Crete has become one of Greece’s respected public universities. Its medical education combines that academic foundation with modern facilities and an international programme taught in English.

The six-year Medicine programme is taught and assessed in English and admits only 35 students each year, supporting an excellent staff-to-student ratio. Students learn in modern facilities with a focus on academic and clinical quality. As an EEA programme, eligible graduates can apply directly to the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK.

The programme is based on a purpose-built campus in Heraklion on the island of Crete. Students combine modern medical education with life in one of Greece’s best-known island cities.

Medical Doorway assesses eligibility, coordinates applications and helps shortlisted candidates prepare for an online interview. Our support is free to applicants and continues through the steps towards joining the university.
