About Queen Mary University of London (Malta)
Overview
Queen Mary University of London’s Malta programme combines a UK medical curriculum and degree with study in the Mediterranean. The programme is delivered through Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in partnership with the Maltese government.
History
Barts and The London has a long-standing place in UK medical education, while Queen Mary is a member of the Russell Group. The Malta programme extends that academic tradition through a dedicated international campus and local clinical environment.
Courses and careers
Medicine is taught and assessed in English by Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and leads to a Queen Mary University of London award. The programme is approved by the General Medical Council (GMC), and graduates may begin FY1 and FY2 training in Malta subject to the rules in force when they qualify.
Setting
Students study in Malta, where English is an official language and can be used with patients and the wider community. The island setting offers a distinct alternative to studying the same curriculum in London.
