Overview
Charles University Third Faculty of Medicine offers an innovative, clinically oriented medical curriculum in Prague. Medical Doorway supports applicants to the faculty and organises dedicated entrance examinations.
History
The faculty has educated doctors since 1953 and was originally established with a focus on hygiene. It took its current name in 1990, and its modern Ruská Street building opened in 1992.
Courses and careers
The Medicine programme uses a problem-oriented curriculum that keeps the clinical relevance of scientific study in view. Its close relationship with Vinohrady University Hospital supports early clinical exposure. Graduates work around the world, and eligible graduates can apply to the General Medical Council (GMC), subject to the requirements in force when they qualify.
Setting
The faculty is based at Vinohrady in the Czech capital. Students combine a smaller academic community and nearby hospital training with the cultural and social opportunities of Prague.
Apply with Medical Doorway
Medical Doorway organises UK entrance examinations and guides candidates through the application. Applicants with confirmed A-level grades of AAB or above may be considered for admission without the entrance examination, subject to the faculty’s current rules.
