Studying in Malta

Location and History

Queen Mary University of London brings the medical teaching tradition of Barts and The London to Malta through a partnership with the Maltese government. Students follow a UK university curriculum at a dedicated Mediterranean campus.

Setting and Student Life

English is an official language in Malta, supporting communication with patients and the wider community as well as classroom study. Students follow their medical education in a Mediterranean island setting, with local clinical experience forming part of the programme.

Universities and Courses

Queen Mary University of London’s Malta programme offers medicine through Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Teaching and assessment are in English, following a UK medical curriculum and leading to a Queen Mary University of London degree.

Applying and Events

Applications to the Malta programme are made outside UCAS, so they do not use one of an applicant’s UCAS choices. The selection process includes an admissions test requirement and an interview for shortlisted candidates. Medical Doorway coordinates eligible applications and helps candidates prepare their documentation.
