Charles University Second Faculty of Medicine

Charles University Second Faculty of Medicine offers a focused medical education on the site of Motol University Hospital in Prague. Medical Doorway supports applicants to this smaller faculty and its clinically integrated programme.

Established in 1953 with an initial specialism in paediatrics, the school became the Second Faculty of Medicine in 1990. It has continued to develop alongside Motol, one of the Czech Republic’s major teaching hospitals.

The Medicine programme covers the full spectrum of medical education in a smaller, student-focused faculty. Its location at Motol gives students early contact with clinical practice and helps connect classroom learning to patient care. Eligible graduates can apply to the General Medical Council (GMC), subject to the requirements in force when they qualify.

Students benefit from a defined faculty community while living in Prague, one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals. Teaching and hospital facilities are closely connected on the Motol site.
