Pavol Jozef Šafárik University offers six-year Medicine and Dentistry programmes in Košice at competitive tuition levels. Medical Doorway works with the faculty to support international applicants from application through to arrival.

The medical faculty was founded in 1948 and is the university’s oldest faculty. It began teaching Medicine and Dentistry in English in 1992, creating a long-established route for international students.

Both Medicine and Dentistry run for six years and lead towards a broad range of international career routes. Graduates have established careers across Europe, the UK and North America. Eligible graduates can apply to the General Medical Council (GMC) or General Dental Council (GDC), as appropriate, subject to the requirements in force when they qualify.

Košice is Slovakia’s second-largest city, with direct flights from London, Liverpool and Dublin as well as rail connections to other European destinations. Students can choose university accommodation or private apartments and have access to a wide range of cultural, sporting and entertainment facilities.

Medical Doorway provides a direct application route and organises the London entrance examination. The two-and-a-half-hour examination comprises 100 Chemistry questions and 100 Biology questions. After acceptance, our team works directly with the Slovak Embassy to support the student-visa process and helps students prepare for arrival.
