Medical University Pleven

Medical University Pleven is an established Bulgarian medical school with an English-language programme and a strong focus on modern clinical education. Medical Doorway is its exclusive UK authorised representative.

Founded in 1974, MU-Pleven has played a leading role in Bulgarian medical education. It was the first university in the country to establish an English-language medical programme and has continued to invest in specialist facilities.

Medical students benefit from clinically focused teaching and a specialist robotic-surgery centre. Operating since 2008, the centre uses the da Vinci S system with a particular focus on gynaecological oncology and is described as the only facility of its kind in Bulgaria. As a recognised EEA programme, eligible graduates can apply for full General Medical Council (GMC) registration with a licence to practise in the UK.

Pleven is one of Bulgaria’s larger cities and supports a substantial medical-school community. The university combines its city location with specialist teaching and clinical facilities.

As the university’s exclusive UK authorised representative, Medical Doorway organises UK entrance examinations. We also deliver pre-departure briefings with the Bulgarian Embassy and provide practical support when students arrive in Pleven.
