Now that A-level exams have concluded all attention is turning to medicine clearing 2024. With results due to be published on 15th August 2024 Medical Doorway is delighted to bring even more medicine and dentistry options for students in this UCAS clearing 2024 cycle. We have been working hard to open as many options as possible and we are now able to bring a diversity of opportunities for aspiring doctors and dentists. These options are in the UK, Continental Europe and the Mediterranean with tuition fees staring from only £7,200 est. per year.
One of Europe’s most popular options situated in the safe and clam Mediterranean island of Cyprus. The University of Nicosia is blessed with first-class facilities, an international faculty and the warmth of the weather and Cypriot people. UNIC offers the ability to conduct clinical attachments in the UK, USA and Switzerland. Tuition fees are €18,000 per year for the first three years and then €22,000 per year for the three clinical years. This is one of few programmes which offers scholarships with a fee discount of up to 20% available. We do advise applying as early as possible and we are already receiving pre-clearing applications. Offers are typically made at ABB including Biology and one other science. Candidates with BBB are also advised to apply.
As the tenth oldest medical school in the world the First Faculty of Medicine needs no introduction. With seats available on their medicine and dentistry programme this faculty is one of very few which have gained accreditation by the Medical Board of California for the English medicine programme. Admission to this famous medical school, is determined by an entrance exam taking place in London on 25th August. This multiple-choice exam is followed by an online interview. Tuition fees are roughly £20,000 a year.
The Third Faculty of Medicine prides itself of being one of Europe’s most innovative medical schools. The faculty offers students an integrated style curriculum like the UK and Canada. This faculty is smaller than many others ensuring an enviable student to staff ratio. Situated in the capital city of Prague, students benefits from living in a vibrant city. The London entrance exam takes place on 24th August with offers being made on the day. This is a great value medical school with fees of £14,500 est. a year
Kosice is the second largest city in Slovakia and home to the country’s largest medical faculty. This impressive medical school is arguably the best value option on the continent. Admission is determined by a straight-forward multiple-choice entrance exam in Biology and Chemistry taking place in London on 27th August. With tuition fees starting at £10,500 for medicine and £11,000 for dentistry this is one of Central Europe’s best value options.
Eastern Poland is a region of Europe steeped in history. This is clear if you explore at the palatial buildings that are home to the medical faculty at the University of Bialystok in Poland. Admission to this prestigious programme is based on an analysis of your academic profile and an online interview which will explore your science knowledge and motivations to study medicine. The tuition fees are est. £12,100 a year.
For students who want to study their degree in the UK with clinical placement opportunities in the USA, SGU should be the first choice. Years one and two of the five-year MD is based a Northumbria University. Year three is then at the main True-Blue campus in the Caribbean. You can then complete your clinical attachments in the UK and/or USA. Very few universities provide a truly global experience and offer such a wide variety of career pathways. The fees are not low for SGU but generous scholarships can make this option more affordable.
The capital of the Baltic country of Latvia is one of Europe’s most vibrant cities. It is also the home of Riga Stradins University. This modern, dynamic university is popular with students from across Europe. The February enrolment makes it convenient for students applying via clearing. Students are expected to have three science A-levels at grade C or above. Maths or Physics are mandatory with Biology and Chemistry being highly recommended. Tuition fees are £11,500 for Medicine and £13,200 for Dentistry.
We have been working with Medical University Pleven in Bulgaria since 2011. As a result, we have seen hundreds of our students graduate and establish successful careers. With an enrolment in February this is an ideal programme for students who need time to prepare themselves and avoid the stress of rushing their enrolment. Admission is based on A-levels, with Biology and Chemistry being required at grade C or above. This is followed up with a basic multiple choice entrance exam held online. Tuition fees are low at only £7,200 a year.
